At the '2021 4th Korea Small and Medium Enterprises Grand Prize' awards ceremony held at Prima Hotel on the 21st, Awesomepia Director Jin-geol Lee is taking a commemorative photo after winning the grand prize in the innovative product metaverse category.

Awesomepia, taking the lead in advancing Korea's metaverse technology one step further, won the grand prize in the innovative product metaverse category at the 4th Korea Small and Medium Enterprises Grand Prize hosted by the Korea Small and Medium Enterprises Association.

Awesomepia is a metaverse platform company that converges ICT technologies for the past 7 years, and has also collaborated on VR documentaries with Google headquarters. In 2017, it was honored with the Korea Leading Company Technology Innovation Award for developing AR games for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and supplying VR documentaries to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

The innovative technology awarded this time is the XR observatory telescope 'BORA', which visually outputs information about the observed object, allowing group viewing through its own display. You can see the scenery on a clear day even in cloudy weather or at night, and it also provides information about cultural heritage and environmental ecology that is not visible in the scenery.

Awesomepia plans to open the era of on-off mix XR tourism differentiated from existing telescopes through this. While providing virtual tourism services linked with 'BORA', 'Meta Live', a metaverse platform, will be launched in the first half of next year. Meta Live enables non-face-to-face tourism even in remote places by fusion of the touristic scenery streamed from BORA with the virtual space within the platform.

Mun-ho Min, CEO of Awesomepia, said, "Currently, due to COVID-19, normal services for both consumers and suppliers in the tourism industry are unstable. We will fill the gap created by the corona virus by providing publicity and sales channels for special products.”
He added, "We will provide daily healing through Meta Live in the 3D virtual world of the metaverse concept."
